If you have just collected keys in La Violeta 2 or one of the newer La Rosa phases, congratulations. These are among the newest homes handed over in Villanova, and getting them clean before the family moves in is the first job on the list. Here is the order we recommend: finish snagging with Dubai Properties, deep clean the home while it is still empty, clean the water tank and AC filters on the same day, book interior and exterior windows together, and plan one lighter clean a few weeks after you move in.

Why a brand-new home needs the biggest clean
It sounds backwards. Nobody has lived there yet, so how dirty can it be?
The answer is builder dust. It is the fine powder left by cement, plaster, grout and tile cutting, and it is nothing like normal household dust. It settles inside every cupboard, drawer, wardrobe and appliance, in the door and window tracks, along the skirting and on top of every frame. A damp cloth turns it into a film. A household vacuum blows the finest part straight back into the air.
A proper deep clean is built for this. A full team works top to bottom, inside every cupboard and appliance, with equipment that captures fine dust instead of moving it around. It is quoted on your home's size and condition, and for a Villanova townhouse a few photos on WhatsApp are usually enough for a firm price.
The order we recommend
1. Finish snagging first. Let the developer's team complete their touch-ups before the big clean. Fresh paint, silicone and adhesive marks undo a finished clean, and removing them is separate work. Clean once, after the trades have finished.
2. Have DEWA connected. A deep clean needs running water and working power. This is the most common reason a handover clean gets moved, so check it before you book the date.
3. Leave the protective film on until cleaning day. The film on glass and appliances has protected them since they were fitted. Peel it during the clean and the surfaces underneath come up like new.
4. Deep clean the empty home. An empty townhouse is the only time the floors can be done edge to edge and every cupboard cleaned inside without unpacking around it. Our guide on whether to deep clean before or after moving in explains why.
5. Clean the water tank before you move in. A new home's tank has held standing water through construction and handover. Dubai Municipality guidance is a domestic tank clean at least twice a year, and our water tank cleaning is quoted on the tank size and access.
6. Do the AC filters. Fit-out dust sits in the filters of a brand-new system. Filter and vent cleaning is from 199 AED per unit, with 10% off for three or more units.
7. Book interior and exterior windows together. On a new build this matters more than anywhere. When both are booked together, basic cleaning of the door and window tracks is included, and new tracks are full of construction sand. 8. Plan a lighter second clean. Building work continues in the newer parts of Villanova, including La Tilia, so fine dust keeps arriving. A shorter clean two or three weeks after you move in picks up what has settled.

Bought to rent it out?
Many new Villanova homes are bought by investors. If yours will be rented rather than lived in, clean it once properly while it is empty, then photograph it on the same day while the glass is clear and the floors are spotless. After the handover: a weekly maid slot
Once the home is reset, the easiest way to keep it there is a regular housekeeping plan.
